Smart Vision Lights Announces the New High-Intensity SXP80 LED Projector Light for Structured Lighting and Other Machine Vision Applications

Muskegon, Mich., April 8, 2019 — Smart Vision Lights (SVL), a global leader in the design and manufacture of LED illumination solutions for machine vision and other applications, released its new SXP80 projector light, which provides the most intense projected pattern available from an LED light source targeting machine vision applications. Unveiled at the Automate 2019 conference and exhibition (Booth 8135), SVL’s new spotlight enables projection of small pattern features over large distances yet maintains the brightness typical of near-field applications.

The SXP80 projector light offers multiple interchangeable pattern styles, along with optional custom patterns. It produces a thinner and more defined pattern of light, comparable to laser projectors in intensity but without the speckle, making the SXP80 light an ideal solution for many types of structured lighting applications.

SXP80 Projector SpotlightCompatible with SVL’s new SmartVisionLink™ technology, the SXP80 projector allows users with a tablet or smartphone to remotely adjust key parameters like intensity in both continuous operation and OverDrive™ strobe mode. Made possible by the company’s new BTM-1000 Bluetooth module and downloadable app, SmartVisionLink™ offers a simple, intuitive alternative to physically handling hard-to-reach lights or adding bulky network-enabled light controllers.

The SXP80 projector light also features SVL’s new award-winning NanoDrive™ technology, which enables the spotlight’s LEDs to switch fully on within 500 ns and to deliver hundreds of amps. This makes SVL’s new projector light an excellent new solution for machine vision applications that require rapid image acquisition or short image exposure times. Area scan and line scan cameras will also benefit from the light’s NanoDrive™ capability.

The SXP80 projector light is housed in an IP50 housing, equipped with industry-standard 5-pin M12 connectors, which make for simple wiring, since external wiring to a driver is unnecessary.

SVL experts will be on hand to discuss the new SXP80 projector light and its underlying technologies at Booth 8135 during Automate 2019, which runs April 8–11 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
