Description of Application:
The subject of this application is a bottled water product. The inspection includes the verification of an ink based lot & date code printed on the side of an angled and curved plastic surface.

Illumination: S75-850 [75mm Spot Light 850nm IR – “Brick Light”]
(A) Lens Working Distance: 5 ½” from tip of lens to inspection area of the part
(B) Light Working Distance: 1 ¾” from front of light to the side of the part
(C) Camera Angle: 15 degrees
(D) Light Angle: 45 degrees
Horizontal Field of View: 1″
NOTE:The bottom of the lens is even with the top of the bottle.
Evaluation
In order to capture a high quality image of the lot and date code low angle lighting is ideal. With the Brick Light pointed up at a 45 degree angle, and the camera at a slight 15 degree angle, a near dark field image can be achieved with high clarity.
