The first-ever AIA Canadian Machine Vision conference was a resounding success. There were about 100 attendees and 31 table-top exhibitors. The people I met were interested in one thing: machine vision. One way to put it is that the attendees were like sponges, absorbing as much technology as they could in a one-day event.
The majority of the speakers were from Canadian companies, such as Vista Solutions, based in Windsor, Ontario. Michael Sirizzotti, Vista’s co-owner and vice president, spoke on “Choosing the Right Inspection — Technique and Technology.” Meanwhile, Shelley Fellows, vice president of operations for RADIX, spoke on “Using Vision for Porosity and Surface Inspection.”
My prediction is that there will be more events like this in Canada before long.
Thank you, AIA, for a job well done.
