Smart Vision Lights Announces Leadership Transition: CEO Dave Spaulding to Retire

Norton Shores, Mich., July 19, 2024 –­Smart Vision Lights today announced that its President and CEO, Dave Spaulding, will retire at the end of 2024. Steve VanderZwaag, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering, will step into the role of President and CEO effective January 1, 2025.

During his 12-year tenure, Dave Spaulding has propelled Smart Vision Lights to the forefront of the machine vision lighting industry. Under his guidance, the company expanded into new markets, launched groundbreaking products, and solidified its reputation for excellence. His leadership significantly increased the company’s market share and revenue, all while fostering a culture of innovation and customer focus.

Steve VanderZwaag joined Smart Vision Lights in 2020, initially leading the development and launch of the new electronic assembly department. Promoted to Vice President of Engineering in 2023, Steve brings over 25 years of diverse business experience, including key leadership roles in engineering and quality departments. He is well-equipped to guide the company through its next phase of growth and innovation.
